Arrival in M'Hamid, the Gateway to the Moroccan désert

Arrive in M'Hamid by your own means of transport (direct CTM bus from Marrakech at 11 a.m. or shared taxi with a transfer in Ouarzazate).

Welcome and check-in at Riad Amnir, an authentic accommodation located at the edge of the désert. Enjoy a traditional dinner and a comfortable overnight stay before starting your trek.

Day 1: M'Hamid – Sidi Naji (Trekking in the Moroccan désert)

Early morning departure after breakfast towards Sidi Naji, where the tomb of an ancient marabout is located, a pilgrimage site for nomads.

The trek begins with a walk through the M'Hamid palm grove, offering a lush contrast before entering the vast désert. Lunch break under the palm trees, followed by some rest in the shade.

In the afternoon, we continue our trek through the arid landscapes of the Sahara until reaching Sidi Naji. Setting up the bivouac under the stars, dinner around the fire, sand bread, and Berber entertainment.

Day 2: Sidi Naji – Erg Ait Ounir (An Immersive Experience in the Moroccan Sahara)

After waking up in the heart of the désert and enjoying a traditional nomadic breakfast, we depart towards Erg Ait Ounir. This stage crosses the tamarisk forest of the Draa Valley, an iconic area of the Moroccan désert.

The trail follows the dried riverbed of the Draa, offering spectacular views of golden dunes and rock formations shaped by the wind. Lunch break in the wild, then continuation towards Erg Ait Ounir.

By the evening, we set up the bivouac in the dunes, where you can relax and admire the breathtaking sunset over the Sahara.

Day 3: Erg Ait Ounir – M'Hamid (Return to Civilization)

In the morning, we begin our journey back to M'Hamid, following a different route to explore the opposite bank of the Draa, the legendary ancient river of the Moroccan désert.

Arrival in M’Hamid by late morning, marking the end of this unique désert trekking experience.
